Bilgin’s 48m Superyacht Embarks On Maiden Voyage
Bilgin’s latest motor yacht ‘Lilium’ is 47.5 metres and boasts five luxurious cabins across three decks. She welcomes 10 guests and 9 crew members as she embarks on her maiden voyage to the South of France.
Named after the Lilium flower, the motor yacht promises “a sunny and happy day on deck”, according to Chief Executive, İsmail Şengün. This is supported by her fresh white interior and classic gold decor.
Lilium also offers ample opportunities for socialising and soaking up the sun with her spacious, jacuzzi equipped sundeck.
Unique Yacht Design’s Chief Executive, Emrecan Özgün, also speaks highly of Lilium. He names her “a proud example of today’s globally recognised Turkish craftsmanship.”
After her first stop at the Cannes Yachting Festival, Monaco’s renowned Yacht Show awaits Lilium’s grand debut on September 25th.

Feadship’s W Undertaking A 6 Month Refit
Feadship’s superyacht ‘W’ has returned to Aalsmeer for extensive refurbishments to her on-board facilities, accommodation, and general exterior. A La Mer Inc. will carry out these changes, catering to the wants and needs of W’s new owners.
Notable changes include:
The sun deck will welcome a new, larger jacuzzi for guests to enjoy as part of a luxurious yachting experience.
The VIP stateroom will be converted to two guest suites. This will create room for up to eight guests across the lower and main deck. The day-head will also become an en-suite
W’s hull is being repainted from it’s classic white to a modern metallic silver.
W’s refit has an expected completion date of March 2020 and will accommodate 8 guests and 12 crew members.
ATR’s Hugo Boss Yacht Completed
Alex Thompson Racing (ATR) have announced that their latest yacht, Hugo Boss, is complete.
The IMOCA 60 racing yacht is 18.28 meters long, and was recently completed after two years of design and build work by ATR and VPLP. A team of over 100 specialists have carefully constructed the ship in Hampshire over 50,000 hours.
ATR Chief Executive, Alex Thompson states that the project dedicates itself to “bringing together the best in the world in every single area, in the relentless pursuit of excellence, of perfection.”
This announcement comes in time for the 2020 Vendée Globe, an around the world race in which it is hoped that the Hugo Boss will be victorious.
In today’s environmentally aware society, it is worth noting that the racing yacht features ultra-modern hydrofoils and solar panelling. This will support a full world-trip that utilises no fossil fuels.
She weighs in at 7.6 tonnes and boasts a black gloss and fluorescent pink finish that emulates the sleek and luxurious brand after which she is named.
The ship will be extensively tested on water before being christened this month. Also awaiting Hugo Boss is a solo race from New York to Vendée in June 2020 in preparation for the highly anticipated Vendée Globe later that year.
Fire At Qatar Shipyard Destroys Three Mega Yachts
Recently, a building at Nakilat Damen Shipyards Qatar (NDSQ) caught fire and collapsed on three motor yachts, namely Constellation, Maracunda, and Al Adaid.
Although information is scarce, it is understood that the shed in question was used by the Qatari royal family to store the three yachts. Thankfully no injuries were sustained by the fire.
President of Amiri Yachts, Mahmoud Abdulla AlKhori has confirmed the fire and promises to ensure that an extensive investigation around the cause of the fire is carried out.
Marala Undergoing Restoration At Pendennis
The 59 meter superyacht has arrived at Pendennis shipyard for an extensive 18-month restoration.
Marala boasts accommodation for 13 guests in 7 cabins, alongside 21 crew members.
Camper and Nicholsons built the steel super yacht nearly 90 years ago. Unsurprisingly, it is in wide agreement that her on-board systems and technology are in need of an update. Furthermore, she will receive new paintwork, upgraded steelwork, and a refurbishment of her teak decks.
Muza Lab will redesign the decor and are keen to sustain her classic 1930s interior. The London design studio promises to “respect and celebrate the 1930’s spirit of the vessel” during her redesign and guest area overhaul.
Joint MD of Pendennis, Mike Carr is also confident in the yard’s ability to carry out large restoration projects. He promises that the entire team have a “deep respect for preserving the heritage of these yachts’.
